  probably not, but most fool themselves or pretend they are happy - so it's hard to tell.

  right now at bethel, they are laying off and reassigning again.

  if you have cancer or some other illness, you are a liability and it's time to pack.

  i remember the night when we had the special talk about there being a great need in the field and some would be sent out.

  Some disgusting attitudes on this thread. How someone can come to the conclusion that it's fine to be insensitive and stereotypical and to flame people they don't know just because they managed to work out the WT was BS before them, never bought it, or 'are used to being screwed over by witnesses' is beyond me.

  Gary you sound like you have a huge chip on your shoulder, and a nasty, aggressive attitude. Whether you have or not I have no idea - but you come across this way. Sounds like you have had some problems - that's tragic, but taking it out on others whose are not at fault for these problems is also tragic.

  Most people here were brainwashed at some point, we all woke up at different times. NOONE here has the right to judge to another human, especially ones we don't know - doing that makes us as bad as people like the GB. I understand bitterness and even anger directed at the WT organisation at a whole. Individuals that think they are/were doing the right thing though, and have not 'seen the light' yet are hardly deserving of that.

  To the ex-bethel people on here, not everyone is an arsehole so please don't judge all 'apostates' to be like this.

  BASHING the families of disfellowshiped ones

  as if the first assembly day was not bad enough, talking about the greedy, fame hungry witnesses who go to college and will not get blessings from jehovah, sunday was worse.. .

  i could tell the wife was not happy the minute she came through the door.

  after letting her get her "lemonade" in a glass, i said, "so, no rough talks today?".

  One question I have about disfellowshipping - if you tell an Elder that you don't believe everything and you have doubts, will they disfellowship you? If you say that you did or do have contact with a disfellowshipped family member but didn't feel that the WTS needed to know, would you be disfellowshipped?

  last elders that came to rescue me, I told them I didn't believe any of it, that the WT was not God's channel. They looked surprised, but nothing was done, they just didn't come back again (after promising to look into a load of questions I had for them too)

  Swearing in WT DVD

  has anyone else seen the [amazingly badly] animated dvd/video about king david (on the dvd it was a double bill with one about noah).. i had to endure watching this one as it was to be 'studied' at the service meeting.. anyway, a bit of the way in, after the israelites beat the philistines, there is a good 3-4 second shot of all the israelites sticking up 2 fingers at the philistines (which, in the uk anyway, means "f*ck you" and is regarded as the same as verbally saying a 4 letter word), i pointed this out to my family and every witness that would listen.

  everyone told me i was lieing or mistaken.. anyway, see it for yourself!

  anyone else already notice this?

  end of afternoon program, announced upcoming release of a new songbook: "sing to jehovah".

  What's the betting that they've got rid of the song with that immortal line about the bees being molested????

  That's my favourite, the line after too says "I will beat them off", euphemism overload!

  There is one about 'mong men' too which I also found to be a source of amusement.

  the new song book will include 100 songs from the previous book, along with 200 new chants which will simply repeat the line "The GB is God, The GB is God" to different 'melodies' and keys.

  What crazy demonstrations did you see on the Service Meeting?

  i had a couple of pretty good ones, i thought.. my first one was theocratic news.

  i know a lot of congregations that did this one.

  we had a long table facing the audience, and we gave the "theocratic news" from the km as if it were a tv news broadcast.

  I also got counselled for wearing a dress that showed a little bit of my shoulders

  STONE HER, STONE HER! GODS STANDARDS DO NOT CHANGE!!!!

  I once did a presentation in french pretending to be a foreign householder so someone could use that booklet with all the different languages in.

  I couldn't realy speak french, just the odd word and mumbled "alor, blah blah, la le, blah, alor" a lot.

  How did you REALLY feel when you where out in field service?

  i never felt comfortable knocking on door and i hoped no one would be home.

  my presentation was short and to the point because i did not want to get into discussions.

  as we walked from "door to door" i secretly wished i could be like all the ones i saw in the nighborhood.

  the idea of "car groups" intrigues me. I have never heard of this in the UK, we just drove to the territory in our own cars, all got out and did the territory for 1-2 hours, then went home.
